The sale of the 400 East Jackson Avenue property has no impact on our main store located at 200 East Magnolia Avenue. 

Lately, we have been in the news concerning our sale of a large piece of property, 400 East Jackson Avenue near the old city.  There has been widespread speculation that this site will become the future home of the Tennessee Smokies AA Chicago Cubs minor league baseball team.   These news reports have caused some confusion in the community regarding the future of Knox Rail Salvage at our downtown location and we want to enlighten our customers on the facts.  

First, our business is sound and profitable.  We are maintaining our  main location at 200 East Magnolia Avenue in the downtown area.    Secondly, we are enjoying our best year in our 37 year history.   Thirdly, Knox Rail Salvage didn’t sell any part of its business, just a piece of property.  

So why did we sell? After much consideration and discussion over a period of 15 months we decided to sell the property.  We are confident this sale will enhance our ability for future growth affording us with;  additional resources for the introduction of new products and services,  more stable inventory levels that supports our "in-stock and ready to take home today" philosophy, and the eventual expansion of our brand with a second location in other areas of the Knoxville community.  We didn’t need to sell.  However, the offer became too large to ignore and we saw the opportunity to sell at a premium with downtown real estate prices peaking in our favor.  

We are passionate about the future of our business and the opportunity to continue  to deliver low cost, high value products on cabinets, floors, roofing and doors and more to customers all over East Tennessee.    We have purchased a large building north east of downtown so stay tuned for our future expansion plans as they develop.   We will continue to sell at the 400 East Jackson avenue location until November 15, 2018.    We are currently conducting a moving sale and offering big discounts on all our inventory at that location only to keep our moving costs low.  We invite you to come take advantage of these super low prices and save thousands of dollars on your next home improvement project.

 Our main store is located at 200 East Magnolia Avenue and has over 30,000 sf of retail space.  We also own the former White Lilly Building directly adjacent to our Magnolia Avenue store has over 100,000 sf of space and affords us the opportunity to consolidate some of our operations at our main store.
